We love big windows. They’re a creative space. A mode of expression. A way to show friends and visitors to San Francisco just how special a room with exquisite linens can look and feel. What’s more—we believe that a smart look doesn’t have to cost a lot.
A Great Look Without The Big Price Tag
Yes, with the right foundation, you can create a look that makes an impact without paying an arm and a leg. For instance, our Valentine’s Day window caught a lot of eyes and (from the responses we got) made a great impression. The key was a focus on 1) good quality and 2) simple adornments to reinforce the message.
Our longtime expert window trimmer and friend, Steve Jensen (who creates great displays for Neiman-Marcus, as well), started the process by settling on a theme—the romance of February 14th.
We then chose a set of very fine linens as the foundation for his look. From there, he built out the display with sensibly priced trimmings and mood setters (in this case, ribbons, flowers, candies, a candy dish). See? High Quality + Simple Enhancements = Great Results!
Great Quality Always Stands Out
Sometimes, we do spend a great deal on our windows. But our luxury bedding Valentine’s Day display just goes to show that you can change your room’s décor without spending a lot. (And why not save your money for the finer quality, more expensive items that really make a difference—like lovely linens for your bedroom, bathroom and table.)
Remember, when you begin with something exceptional, you don’t have to break the bank on embellishments.
