Down generally responds well to washing and dry-cleaning. Nevertheless, it is always best first to check the care label and, if in doubt, ask your local drycleaner. The cleaning procedure is most often determined by the fiber of which the shell fabric is made.

When machine-washing down comforters, wash separately in warm water, short cycle, high water levels, with a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly. Be sure to use a machine large enough to accommodate the comforter.

Air drying will not dry down items completely. Tumble dry at low temperatures, no higher than 140 degrees F.
