Blankets are usually either cotton or wool. Electric blankets are typically a blend of a synthetic, such as acrylic, and cotton. Cotton and synthetic/cotton blend blankets can be machine washed. (Yes, it's ok to wash an electric blanket as long as it's not plugged in!) Wool blankets should always be dry cleaned.
